(File Photo) BEIJING, Oct. 12 (Xinhuanet) -- British actor Jude Law, who was arrested Sept. 4 for allegedly assaulting a photographer outside his home, has been cleared in the case, his spokeswoman said as quoted by media reports Friday. The Oscar-nominated star was said to have tried to grab the lensman's camera outside his west London house in the plush Maida Vale district. He went to a local police station voluntarily after the incident and was released on police bail. "The police have told me that they and the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) have examined the photographer's allegation extremely carefully and made the decision that there is no further action to be taken," Law's spokeswoman in London said, quoting the actor. "Of course I am delighted to be vindicated." Law's legal team maintained all along that he was not at fault in the encounter. "Mr. Law provided the police with a statement regarding his denials of allegations by a 'paparazzi' photographer against him and made his own allegations concerning the photographer," his attorney said last month. Law, 34, is currently shooting the sci-fi film "Repossession Mambo" in Canada. He is now seen in theater with his latest film, a remake of the 1972 thriller "Sleuth." (
