Chinese archaeologists have discovered a well-preserved small-scale settlement site of late Shang Dynasty, dating back more than three thousand years.

Official website Xinhua.net reported that the site, unearthed recently in central China's Henan province, has residential quarters and tombs, as well as areas for handcraft making and sacrifice ritual.

This is the first intact complex of that historical period that has been discovered, which is valuable for the study of the social development of the Shang Dynasty.

Further study about the site is underway.
