The governor of Bangkok has canceled all Songkran (Thai New Year) activities hosted by City Hall after the government declared a state of emergency amid the worsening political turmoil. But many tourists and locals shrugged off the state of emergency declaration and embraced the traditional water-splashing activities with gusto.
