People throughout China celebrate the Double Ninth Festival, also known as "Chongyang Festival" or "Old Men Veneration Festival", which is considered a traditional occasion to pay respect to the aged.

The festival falls on the ninth day of the ninth month of the Chinese lunar calendar, or Oct. 26 this year.
