As the most popular drama at the end of last year in Taiwan by the prestigious stage play director Stan Lai of Taiwan, the stage drama of A Village on the Precious Island depicts the cherished homesick emotions and nostalgia of the Kuomintang army's officers, soldiers and their kinfolks after having retreated from the mainland to Taiwan some 60 years ago.

The drama has been performed more than 60 times publicly to a total of 100,000 audiences since its initiation and known as a unique cultural phenomenon of Taiwan in recent years.
