The theme park Moomin World was built on the southwest coast of Finland, on a small island facing Naantali.
The theme park was built basing on a series of children's books "The Moomins" written by Tove Jansson (1914-2001), a famous Finnish author and painter.
The Moomins, main characters in the fairy tales, vaguely resemble hippopotamuses, lived in the Moominvalley where residents are in harmony with nature, were world-famous cartoon characters.
