A 500g (1.1lb), 28.5cm-long baby boy was born after only a 24-week-and-one-day gestation period in Zhuzhou, central China's Hunan province, on July 9, 2011. A 500g (1.1lb), 28.5cm-long baby boy was born after only a 24-week-and-one-day gestation period in Zhuzhou, central China's Hunan province, on July 9, 2011.

The tiny baby, with half-transparent skin revealing fragile veins, was sent to the neonatal care unit of Changsha Children's Hospital to receive treatment.
