PARIS, June 19 (Xinhua) -- A car crashed into a parked police van carrying policemen on Monday afternoon on the avenue of Champs-Elysees in Paris.

No injuries are reported by far, but local newspaper Le Figaro citing police sources reported that the driver of the car allegedly attempted to detonate the police van.

There are reports saying that the car exploded in hitting the police van, but it has been yet confirmed by the police.

Reports about the state of health of the driver is confusing at the moment, while some say he's arrested, some say he's dead or seriously injured.

The anti-terrorist section of the Paris prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into the incident.

Sources say a deliberate nature of the act is preferred for the investigation.

The Champs-Elysees avenue has been cordoned off after the intervention of police.
