Lien delivers speech in Peking University

Taiwan opposition leader Lien Chan delivers a speech in Peking University during his visit to Beijing, April 29, 2005.

Lien urged his host China on Friday to embrace political reform and said neither side should upset the status quo which has kept the peace between the long-time foes.

Lien is the first chairman of the Nationalist Party to set foot on Chinese soil since the civil war ended in 1949.
