Living standards in the powerful Asian economies of China and India lag behind other countries in the region, according to a study by the Asian Development Bank released Tuesday. China and India account for 64 percent of total real gross domestic product of the 23 economies in Asia and the Pacific that were covered by the research, but were ranked 15th and 17th respectively according to consumer spending per capita, the study found.
