Chinese President Hu Jintao (R) inspects a minerals flotation laboratory in the BHP process bay at the Australian Resources Research Centre in Kensington near Perth, September 4, 2007.

President Hu presided over a 20-year energy pact between Chinese and Australian firms on Tuesday, ahead of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Sydney.
