Russell Crowe tops Forbes' Worst Hollywood Earner list

BEIJING, Dec. 14 -- Russell Crowe snagged the No. 1 spot as Forbes' worst earner in Hollywood, according to its Ultimate Star Payback list.

According to Forbes.com, the "Cinderella Man" couldn't turn a pumpkin into a payday for his movies from box office bucks, yet he still got paid plenty himself.

For every dollar he received for movies such as "Master & Commander" and "Cinderella Man," Crowe's films earned just five U.S. dollars.

Yet his "American Gangster," which was not factored into Forbes' calculations, should bump him lower on next year's list. The movie, which cost 100 million U.S. dollars to make, had already earned 173 million dollars worldwide at the box office at the Forbes article's press time.

Nicole Kidman also appears on the list, earning about 15 million dollars for "The Golden Compass," which took in just 26 million dollars nationally and 55 million dollars internationally last weekend.
