The American Kennel Club has announced the nation's top dogs, and for the first time in 75 years, the bulldog has muscled its way back into the Top 10 most popular breeds in the US, coming in 10th last year.

The Number One dog remained the Labrador retriever, for the 17th consecutive year, followed by the Yorkshire Terrier, the German Shepherd, the Golden Retriever and the Beagle.

Coming in at No. 6 on the Kennel Club list is the Boxer, followed by the Dachshund, the Poodle and the Shih Tzu.
