Thousands of people attended the memorial ceremony of three martyrs in the quake. Three policemen, called Chen Jian, Zhao Xiang and Tang Chao, were killed when their aircraft crashed on a quake relief mission on May 31. The Mi-171 helicopter was carrying injured civilians when it crashed in the mountains in turbulence on a return trip from Lixian County to Chengdu in quake-hit Sichuan Province.
