Belarus' Tsylinskaya takes world cycling 500m time trial title

WASHINGTON, Mar. 24(Xinhuanet)-- Natallia Tsylinskaya of Belarus won the 500-meter time trial title on Thursday, capturing the first title at the World Cycling Championships in Los Angeles.

Tsylinskaya won in 34.738 seconds with world and Olympic champion Anna Meares of Australia second in 34.752 and Dutch star Yvonne Hijgenaar third in 34.928.

It was the third world crown from Tsylinskaya, who had won in 2002 at Copenhagen and 2003 in Stuttgart.

Meares set the world record of 33.952 at the Athens Olympics. Enditem
