LISBON, April 27(Xinhuanet)-- Portugal coach Brazilian Luiz Felipe Scolari Wednesday refrained from saying whether Real Madrid midfielder Luis Figo is coming back with him.
"You have to ask that to Figo, he is the one who knows," said Scolari during a tribute ceremonyfor him by the Portuguese-Brazilian Chamber, when questioned about the hypothesis of the return of the Real Madrid star, who claimed he would not return to the national team, at the end of the Euro 2004 held in Portugal.
Figo recently hinted at a prompt return to the national team coached by Scolari, who has reiterated he talks often with the player and thatthe team's doors remain open for the midfielder.
"The day he decides to come back, he would onlyhave to talk to me," said Scolari.
On August 18, 2004 Figo said he was taking"a pause" in his participation in the national team after 15 years of being summoned to it in different categories.
The 31-year-old midfielder has played 110 matches with the national team, the last one on July 4, 2004, in the Euro final the host lost 1-0 to Greece.
Figo's debut in the national team took place onOctober 12, in a match against Luxembourg which ended 1-1. Enditem
