SHANGHAI, April 28(Xinhuanet)-- After his consecutive victories in 2001 and 2003 with partner Yan Sen, world men's doubles winner Wang Liqin looks forward to his hat-trick success at the 48th World Table Tennis Championships to be held from May 1- 6 here in China.
Wang and Yan were placed the 2-seed among 32 pairs behind Athens Olympic champions Ma Lin/Chen Qi in men's doubles.
"We felt good during the training sessions here," Wang said here on Thursday.
Wang/Yan, Sydney Olympic doubles winners, suffered a blow by missing the Athens Olympic Games last year.
"Yan was injured before the Asian qualification event last year. But now we are ready to fly high together one more time," Wang said.
"The men's doubles gold is planned within the reach of our Chinese players. I'd better to think how to win the doubles before I go to the singles."
If the Chinese pair win this time, they may have a dupulicate of the Iran Cup as the third-time men's doubles champions in a row.
For Wang, ranked number one in the singles, was tipped one of gold medal contenders besides No. 2 teammate Ma Lin, Athens Olympic champion Ryu Seung-Min of South Korea and a group of European paddlers.
Wang, a native from Shanghai, said:"Maybe I canenjoy some home advantages, but there are also disadvantages for too much expectations on me. I'll try to not to think too much and play with a cool mind."
