3 African teams suffer ties in World Cup Qualifiers

BEIJING, June 20-- Nigeria, Senegal and Morocco were held to disappointing ties in the World Cup African zone qualifiers on Saturday.

Senegal, which reached the quarterfinals at the 2002 World Cup, was tied 2-2 by Togo in Group One.

Nigeria tied its second straight match in Group Four, 1-all against Angola.

And Morocco played a goalless match at Kenya in Group Five.

In the other group playing Saturday, Ghana beat South Africa 2-0 to move into a first-place tie in Group Two.

In other matches, it was: Zambia 2, Mali 1; Burkina Faso 2, Congo 0; Uganda 1, Cape Verde Islands 0; Gabon 3, Rwanda 0; Malawi 1, Botswana 3.

Only the five African group winners qualify for the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany.
