Sampdoria takes Borriello on loan

ROME, June 21(Xinhuanet)-- Sampdoria has taken striker Marco Borriello on a season-long loan from Italian Serie A rival AC Milan.

The 23-year-old has been unable to find a place in the Milan side but the beaten Champions League finalist is reluctant to sellhim.

He spent last season on loan to Reggina but scored only two goals in 30 league appearances.

Sampdoria finished fifth last season and qualified for the UEFA Cup. Enditem
