HARBIN, Northeast China, July 22 (Xinhuanet) -- China completed its powerful run in the 2005 Intercontinental Men's Basketball Championship with an 86-74 win over American All Star here on Friday.
In the four-team tournament, China finished with two wins against one defeat.
With solid defense, China successfully curbed long-range shots from the visitors and furthered horrified the American All Star with their three-pointers for a 33-21 lead in the first quarter.
Entering the second half 47-37, China sustained heavy attacks from center Tate Decker and the 3-pointers from point guard Greg Davis for a 59-55 cushion into the last quarter.
With the help of both Li Nan and Zhang Yunsong, China regained their rhythm when the American All Star made 63-64, the nearest they could manage.
Zhang Yunsong scored 19 points for the hosts, making six of seven 3-pointers, both Li Nan and Yi Jianlian contributed 13 points apiece, while Mustapha Hoff led the American team with 20 points and Tate Decker added 17 points.
