WASHINGTON, July 27(Xinhuanet)-- Larry Brown has agreed to coachthe New York Knicks in a deal that will make him the highest-paid coach in American pro sports history, according to the New York Daily News on Wednesday.
Details would be finalized Wednesday to make Brown the National Basketball Association club's 22nd coach and the fourth for the Knicks in the past 19 months, the newspaper cited multiple unnamedsources as saying.
Brown would be in line for a five- or six-year deal worth between 50 million and 60 million dollars, the report said.
The Knicks went 33-49 last season and has not won a playoff series since 2000.
The 64-year-old Brown guided the Detroit Pistons to the 2004 NBA title and into last month's NBA Finals before losing a seventh-game showdown to the San Antonio Spurs. Enditem
