IZMIR, Turkey, Aug. 13(Xinhuanet) The Chinese diving team with"Queen" Guo Jingjing, Olympic medallists Wu Minxia, Peng Bo and Wang Kenan, finished their last training before the match day on Sunday, wishing to garner the first diving gold for China at the Izmir Universiade.
Wu, Peng and Wang, all Olympic medallists, will participate in the one-meter springboard and three-meter springboard synchronized on Sunday, endeavoring to win the first goal for the team.
Despite the fatigue due to the recent intensive matches, the moral of the Chinese players is very high, Liu Henglin, coach of Chinese diving team, told Xinhua here on Saturday.
Liu said the team does not have a special medal plan, but he is confident that the team could obtain at least four golds from the Universiade.
China is the diving powerhouse, especially strong in the both men's and women's one-meter springboards, three-meter springboard synchronized and 10-meter platform.
