SOFIA, Nov. 3(Xinhuanet)-- Bulgaria's Litex defeated guests from Grasshoppers 2-1 in Sofia on Thursday in Group D of the UEFA Cup match.

The Bulgarians scored first after Slovenian Novakovic received the ball from Stanislav Genchev on the right and hit a fine right-footed shot high into the net from ten meters to give PFC Litex Lovech a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute.

In the second half Litex doubled their advantage in the 81st minute of the game. Brazilian star Sandrinho found the net with a low right-footed shot which beat Grasshopper goalkeeper Fabio Coltorti from inside the penalty area.

But in the injury time Antonio from Grasshoppers caught a wonderful but late chance and managed to score for 2-1. Enditem
