SANTIAGO, Feb. 6(Xinhuanet)-- Mexican first division soccer team Tigres reached Chile on Monday, ahead of their Wednesday's game with Chile's Universidad Catolica in the Libertadores Cup, local media reported. Tigres looked weaker, missing many of its major players, including Argentine Walter Gaitan, and home grown stars including Jaime Lozano, Antonio Sancho, Nestor Silvera, Sindey Balderas and Omar Briseno. However, Tigres, which is managed by Brazil's Ricardo"Tuca" Ferreti, did bring Chilean player Sebastian Gonzalez, known as Chamagol, who considers the Universidad Catolica to be his"archrival". Gonzalez said that this was his main motivation for playing the"crossers" of Universidad Catolica. The Chilean team started the contest with erratic results, losing 1-0 to Everton and drawing 1-1 with Puerto Montt. Catolica defender Jose Pedro Fuenzalida said that the Tigres game was an opportunity to regain last season's form, when the team won the championship. "We want a victory and we want to take advantage of the fact that Tigres are not bringing all their players, although it will still be a complicated match because they have a strong team," Fuenzalida said. The game begins at 9:15 p.m. local time(2145 GMT) on Wednesday in the San Carlos Apoquindo Stadium in Santiago. The teams are in group four of the Cup, which also includes Brazil's Corinthians and Colombia's Deportivo Cali. Enditem
