Wales striker Hartson retires from international football

LONDON, Feb. 7(Xinhuanet)-- Wales striker John Hartson said Monday he will retire from international football and will focus on playing for his club Celtic.

The 30-year-old former Arsenal and West Ham forward had won 50 Welsh caps and scored 14 goals since his international debut in 1995.

"It is a sad day for me because I have loved playing for my country and representing the Welsh people for a number of years," Hartson said. Enditem
