Yao Ming leads Rockets to 4th straight win

WASHINGTON, Feb. 7(Xinhuanet)-- Yao Ming scored 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, helping Rockets beat 76ers 87-81. At Philadelphia, Houston's defense held the 76ers without a field goal for more than 15 minutes in the second half.

The 76ers took no field score from 4:41 in the third quarter to 1:05 in the fourth. They made 18 free throws to hang on during that 15:36 stretch of offensive ineptness. The 76ers missed 14 straight shots in the last quarter before Iverson finally scored on a three-point play. Then Andre Iguodala collected another 3-pointer that made it 85-79, but it was too late.

Houston's another All-Star starter Tracy McGrady added 13 points. Since Yao's back, the Rockets has won four straight games. Iverson scored 32 points for the Sixers.

At Cleveland, LeBron James had 22 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds as he nearly completed his fourth triple-double of the season, leading the Cavaliers over the Milwaukee Bucks 89-86 on Monday. Bucks guard Michael Redd scored only 18 points.

At Washington, Gilbert Arenas scored 23 points and made eight assists, Antawn Jamison added 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Washington beat Orlando with 94-82. DeShawn Stevenson scored 20 points to lead Orlando.

At New Jersey, Richard Jefferson scored 26 points and Vince Carter added 21 to help New Jersey down Hornets 99-91. The Nets has won its 11th straight at home. The Hornets had their four-game winning streak snapped.

At Miami, Heat defeated Celtics for 114-98. Dwyane Wade had 34 points, eight rebounds and eight assists to lead Miami. Shaquille O'Neal added 21 points to help Miami win for the fifth time in sixgames. Paul Pierce scored 31 points to lead the Celtics, who lost their sixth straight.

At Charlotte, Raymond Felton scored 24 points and Melvin Ely added 23, both career highs, to lead Charlotte in the 119-106 win over Seattle. Ray Allen scored 31 to lead the SuperSonics, who have struggled on the road, losing eight of their last 10.

At Phoenix, Timberwolves edged Suns 103-101. Kevin Garnett blocked Shawn Marion's short jumper at the buzzer to preserve Minnesota's first victory in five tries against Phoenix. Steve Nash matched his season high with 31 points, including 11-of-11 from the free throw line. Marion had 14 points, 12 rebounds and a career-high eight steals.

At Salt Lake City, Mehmet Okur hit a 3-pointer with 0.7 seconds left in overtime and Matt Harpring had 28 points to help Jazz beat Bulls with 109-107. Andres Nocioni had a chance to win it for Chicago, but his 3-pointer came just after the final buzzer. Kirilenko had 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Jazz, while Ben Gordon scored 35 points for Chicago. Enditem
