Valencia striker Kluivert to undergo knee surgery

MADRID, Feb. 7(Xinhuanet)-- Valencia striker Patrick Kluivert will undergo a knee surgery on Feb. 14, the Spanish first division soccer side said Tuesday.

The decision was taken after Kluivert visited Amsterdam to seek specialist advice.

Valencia doctor Antonio Giner said Kluivert will remain in the Netherlands until the operation.

The Netherlands international, 29, has played just 217 minutes of league soccer this season since joining Valencia from Newcastle United in June. He previously played for Ajax, AC Milan and FC Barcelona. Enditem
