Swede Ljungberg sidelined from Ireland friendly

STOCKHOLM, Feb. 28(Xinhuanet)-- Swede Freddie Ljungberg, midfielder of English premier league club Arsenal, will miss Sweden's World Cup warm-up friendly against Ireland for a calf injury.

"It's impossible. He's got a bleeding in the calf and it hurts when he walks," national team doctor Magnus Forssblad told media on Monday.

The match will be held on Wednesday at Landsdowne Road in Dublin, and it will be Sweden's last warm-up before coach Lars Lagerback names his World Cup squad on May 9.

Sweden are grouped with England, Paraguay and Trinidad and Tobago at the World Cup finals in Germany which begin on June 9. Enditem
