LUSAKA, March 9(Xinhuanet)-- Zambian women football goalkeeper nursing dog bite has been dropped from the squad ahead of the Africa Cup qualifier against the Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC) this weekend.

Maria Musankabala was bitten one week ago by a stray dog before joing the national team, according to Zambia Daily Mail.

Zambian women's national team coach Frederick Kashimoto said in Kitwe northern Zambia Wednesday that Musankabala has been ruled out of the game because of a swollen leg.

He said the technical bench will find a replacement before the squad leaves for Lubumbashi.

Kashimoto said they are also working on strengthening the defence and will assess two players for possible inclusion in the squad.

The coach warned the players not to underrate the DRC when two sides clash in Lubumbashi, a DRC city bordering Zambia, on Saturday. Enditem
