BEIJING, May 21 -- Australian Open women's doubles champions Zheng Jie and Yan Zi of China extended their winning streak after crowning in Morocco.

The Chinese pair, the top seeds, downed second-seeded Americans Ashley Harkleroad and Bethanie Mattek, 6-1 6-3.

This was the Chinese duo's fifth career title together, and their third this season, following their triumphs in Melbourne and Berlin.

Less than a week ago, both players made their Top 10 debuts in the Tour Doubles Rankings, Zheng at No.9 and Yan at No.10.

In the singles matches, Yan Zi failed to move forward, losing her first semi-finals this season.

She was beaten by American Meghann Shaughnessy who showed glimpses of the form that once took her to the world's Top 15.

Shaughnessy won the semi-final 6-0, 6-2.

Awaiting the American in the final will be Slovak Martina Sucha, the No.8 seed and a 6-3 6-2 winner over No.5-seeded Alona Bondarenko.
