PARIS, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Croatia's Mario Ancic survived a gruelling five-set battle with Spain's seventh seed Tommy Robredo to book his place in the quarterfinals of the French Open on Sunday.

In what was a clash between two players very much in form, Ancic came from two sets to one down to win 6-4, 4-6, 2-6, 6-4, 7-5 in just under four hours.

Ancic's next opponent is likely to be top seed Roger Federer, who is playing Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic. Enditem
