BEIJING, June 6 -- Chinese shuttlers have snapped up three gold medals during five events at the Indonesian Open badminton championship. Rising star Zhu Lin upset teammate Lu Lan 21-11, 21-16 to clinch the women's singles title. In another all-Chinese final, Wei Yili and Zhang Yawen beat their compatriots Yang Wei and Zhang Jiewen 2-0 for the women's doubles title. Zhang Yawen also teamed up with Xie Zhongbo to win the gold in the mixed doubles event. In the men's competitions, China's gold medal hopeful Bao Chunlai failed to conquer Olympic and world champion Taufik Hidayat on Sunday. Bao lost the final match 21-18, 21-19. It was Taufik's sixth title in the event, following victories in 1999, 2000 and 2002-2004. The win at Kertajaya Sports Hall also ended a long title drought for the 25-year-old from Bandung, now world No. 14. Bao complained that he lost concentration at the crucial 19-19 point in the see-saw second game after he thought Taufik's shot landed out. "I had a chance to beat him but my focus was disturbed by the umpire's call," he said. "I will beat him next time. I'll be waiting for him in the Singapore Open (next week)." The men's doubles title went to home favorites Tony Gunanwan and Candra Wijaya. (Source: Shenzhen Daily/Agencies)
