Pirlo extends contract with AC Milan

ROME, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- Midfielder Andrea Pirlo, a member of the World Cup winning Italy squad, has extended his AC Milan deal for anther three years.

Pirlo's current contract with Milan ran until 2008 but the club said on Thursday that he had signed an extension to play for the club until July 2011.

The classy central midfielder joined Milan from city rivals Inter in 2001 after spells with Brescia and Reggina. Enditem
