BEIJING, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- World number five Svetlana Kuznetsova from Russia blitzed world number one Amelie Mauresmo from France in straight sets at the China Open final on Sunday.

2004 China Open runner-up Kuznetsova finally crowned at the tournament after beating the Frenchwoman 6-4, 6-0 in just one hour and two minutes.

"It is a pity to lose the game, and I am a little bit disappointed. I did not win a single game in the second set, Kuznetsova played very well."said Mauresmo.

Mauresmo broke in the third game of the match to set up a 3-1lead. The Russian turned favor in the eighth game by breaking and then the match was rained off and suspended for about one hour and a half or so.

The remaining match only last no more than 20 minutes since it was resumed, with Kuznetsova adjusting herself more quickly and the Frenchwoman committing too many unforced errors to lose the first set 6-4 through another break and the second set at love.

"Kuznetsova is a top five player. She has a great season, and came back so strongly this year." said Mauresmo."The rain did have some effect, but it happens quite often in the season, you have to adjust yourself. Kuznetsova played really better than me."

"As the top player, you can not win all the time, there are something upset, that's what it is. And I was really tired after Saturday's match against Jankovic."

The Frenchwoman on Saturday gave it all to survive a threatening sixth seed Jankovic in a two-hour, 41-minute marathon semifinal while Kuznetsova needed only 50 minutes to thrash China's Peng Shuai.

While Kuznetsova, playing her second straight final and winning Bali crown last week in Indonesia, have improved the record against Mauresmo to 3-4 and secured the second straight WTA title.

"Mauresmo played badly, and made too many mistakes. Luckily I broke her before the rain, and I still maintain the confidence when the game started again."

"Both of us are nernous after the break. I did well enough but she was out of shape tonight, I scored through many easy balls." Enditem
