BRUSSELS, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Top seed Elena Dementieva was ousted from the quarterfinals of the WTA tennis Luxembourg Championship on Friday, losing 7-5, 6-2 to Polish teenager Agnieszka Radwanska.
It's the second big shock caused by the 17-year-old in as many days after ousting an injured Venus Williams on Thursday.
Radwanska took advantage of seven double faults from Dementieva to reach her first WTA Tour semi-final, where she meets Italian fifth seed Francesca Schiavone after the latter outclassed third seed Patty Schnyder 6-1, 6-1.
Another Russian Dinara Safina, seeded fourth, was also shown the exit, beaten 6-4, 6-3 by Czech Kveta Peschke, who next play unheralded Ukrainian Alona Bondarenko in the last four after the 22-year-old ousted Nathalie Dechy of France 5-7, 6-4, 6-0. Enditem
