URUMQI, Northwest China, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- China's Guo Yan will confront her teammate Zhang Yining in the final, beating Tie Yana of Hong Kong 4-2 in the semi-final here on Sunday in 2006 women's table tennis World Cup.

The number two seed Guo overwhelmed her teammate Li Xiaoxia in the quarter-final on Saturday, and she maintained her distinguished form in the game against Tie, as she quickly grabbed the first three sets in an impressive style.

However, Tie got back into the game at the end of the fourth set, when she rallied from three sets down to 2-3. Nevertheless, Guo put the pieces together in the sixth set and won the match 11-9, 11-6, 11-8, 12-14, 8-11, 11-8.

Thus, there will be another all-Chinese final in the World Cup this year, and Guo is expecting her first World Cup champion. Enditem
