Mexico soccer federation accepts invitation to 2007 Copa America

MEXICO CITY, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- The Mexican Football Federation told Friday's media that it had accepted an invitation to play in the 2007 Copa America, due to run from June 26 to July 15 in Venezuela.

The South American Football Federation sent an official invitation signed by its president, Nicolas Leoz, and its general secretary, Eduardo de Luca, formally ratifying its invitation to Mexico.

Mexico will send representative to the Nov. 28 drawing of lots in Venezuela.

Conmebol has also invited the United States to take part in the2007 competition. Enditem
