DONGGUAN, South China, March 28 (Xinhua) -- Bayi Fubang won its third consecutive game of the finals, beating defending champion Guangdong Hongyuan 88-83 to win the title of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league.

Bayi won the final series by 4-1 to deny Guangdong's hope for the fourth title in a row.

This was the eighth CBA title for the military team, took the first seven league championships when the CBA was initiated on 1995. It had never retained it after pivot Wang Zhizhi went to the NBA after the 2001-02 season.
