JAKARTA, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's king and queen of tenpin bowling, Ryan Leonard Lalisang and Putty Insavilla Armein, have left for Florida for the World Ranking Masters showdown, which is being held from May 2-8. They have both set for themselves the highest possible target: becoming world champions, English daily the Jakarta Post reported Monday. Ryan, who last week returned home triumphant from the 4th Kuwait International Open and the Asian Bowling Federation Tour in Kuwait as champion of both tourneys, said he wants to improve on his achievements from last year. "Last year, I finished fourth in the semifinals. My target is to reach the finals and grab the title if possible," Ryan said prior to his Sunday's departure. Holding intensive four-hour practice sessions each day in preparation for the championship, the Doha Asian Games gold medalist said victory in the World Ranking Masters title is one of the two personal milestones he wants to achieve this year. The other is a gold medal at the upcoming SEA Games in Thailand, a repeat of his success in winning gold at the 2005 SEA Games in the Philippines. "Hopefully, I can have both goals attained this year," he said. Putty, who finished fourth in the first Asian Girls Bowling Championship in Tokyo, Japan, also wants to ensure a repeat of hershiny showing at the World Ranking Masters last year in Kuwait. The runner-up at last year's tournament said, however, that it will not be easy for her to win the championship. "I've been anticipating stiff competition from bowlers from Asia, as we have been around in most of Asia's tours. I've never played against some bowlers from the U.S. and Europe who will compete in the championship. They could surprise us," said the Asian Games silver medalist.
