SEOUL, May 2 (Xinhua) -- South Korean national soccer team will have a friendly match with Uzbekistan in Seoul in early July to warm up for the quadrennial Asian Cup, the Korea Football Association (KFA) announced on Wednesday. The KFA decided to play two friendly matches to wrap up South Korea's preparations before the opening of the Asian Cup, Ko Seung-hwan, director of KFA's international relations department, told local media. Ko said Uzbekistan is one of two opponents while the other has not been decided yet. Ko said the match will likely take place at Seoul's World Cup Stadium on July 2. South Korea has three wins, one draw and one loss against Uzbekistan since the two first met in the Hiroshima Asian Games in1994. South Korea beat the Central Asian team twice in their Olympic preliminaries this year. South Korea is in Group D along with Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain in the round of 16 for the Asian Cup co-hosted by Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. South Korea faces Saudi Arabia in their Asian Cup opener in Jakarta, Indonesia, on July 7.
