SHANGHAI, May 3 (AP) -- Australia's Casey Stoner hopes top his second successive podium at Sunday's Chinese Grand Prix, while defending champion Dani Pedrosa of Spain returns to the scene of his first MotoGP win. Stoner, winner at last month's Turkish GP, leads the MotoGP standings with 61 points after collecting two wins from three races. A win this year would mark his second in Shanghai, where he won the 250cc race in 2005 before moving to the Ducati Marlboro MotoGP team. Four-times world champion Valentino Rossi, who won the inaugural Chinese Grand Prix in the rain in 2005, is second with 51 points after winning this season's second race in Spain. He'll be trying to improve on a 10th place finish in Turkey. Rossi's Fiat Yamaha teammate Colin Edwards will look to repeat his excellent performance of last year, when he came in third to snatch his only podium of the season. Riding a Repsol Honda, Pedrosa is well-positioned to improve after collecting podiums in the season's first two races before crashing with Alan Jacque's Kawasaki on the first lap in Turkey. While complaining of some chest pain, Pedrosa said on arrival in Shanghai that he should be fit for Friday's first practice at the Shanghai International Circuit.
