LIMA, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Bolivia's Football Federation (FBF) reiterated its rejection of altitude bans, after a decision earlier Wednesday by soccer's world governing body to change the terms of an earlier ban to affect only stadiums only 3,000 meters above sea level.

The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) changed from 2,500 meters ban announced in late May after protestsfrom the South American Football Federation (Conmebol). It means that international matches can be played in the capitals of Colombia and Ecuador, barred under the first version of the ruling, but rules out the Bolivian cities of La Paz, Oruro, Potosi and Cochabamba.

According to news reaching here, FBF president Carlos Chavez said: "Something smells fishy at (Conmebol). We don't understand how, if 10 nations are in agreement FIFA can reach this decision."

Two weeks ago, Conmebol held a meeting in Paraguay's capital Asuncion, where its 10 members agreed to back Bolivia's complaint to FIFA. Bolivia's president, Evo Morales, attended the meeting tolend force to the nation's position. Enditem
