ROME, June 27 (Xinhua) -- France forward David Trezeguet has surprisingly renewed his contract with Italian soccer team Juventus. The 29-year-old was widely expected to leave after falling out with the club's management - to whom he made a bizarre gesture after the last match of the season. But on Monday night Trezeguet renewed for four years, making it likely he will be a "juventino" for life. He said he was "proud" to stay at Juve, where he has spent the last seven seasons, until 2011. Trezeguet, who has scored 140 goals for the Turin giants, will reportedly earn 4.5 million euros next season and four million euros for each of the following three. Juventus are already well on the way to assembling a competitive squad for their return to the top flight after a year in Serie B due to Italian soccer's match-fixing scandal. The attack has been bolstered by the arrival of Vincenzo Iaquinta, a member of Italy's World Cup-winning squad, from Udinese. Iaquinta and Trezeguet are set to form a strike partnership with veteran captain Alessandro Del Piero. The Turin giants are still in the market for another striker to give new coach Claudio Ranieri options in attack. AC Milan's Alberto Gilardino is a target.
