LONDON, July 1 (Xinhua) -- France midfielder Julien Faubert has signed for West Ham United from Girondins Bordeaux on Sunday for a transfer fee of 9.0 million euros (12.10 million US dollars).

The London club said on its Web site that Faubert, 23, had signed a five-year contract.

He is the Premier League club's second acquisition of the close season after England midfielder Scott Parker from Newcastle United.

Faubert, who scored in his only full international to date against Bosnia last August, said: "For me it has always been a dream to play in the Premier League and now that dream is coming true."
