SEOUL, July 30 (Xinhua)-- The South Korean Football Association (KFA) said Monday that it decided to accept the resignation offered by Pim Verbeek, coach of the national football team coach. The association accepted the resignation offer earlier Monday, KFA officials said. Verbeek expressed his intention to resign on Saturday after South Korea beat Japan in a 6-5 penalty shoot-out in Jaka Baring Stadium in Indonesia and won the third place at the Asian Cup. South Korean soccer fans are disappointed to the performance of Verbeek's squad during the Asian Cup. The KFA will hold a meeting Tuesday to discuss possible replacements for the Dutch coach, as he is expected to leave South Korea on Saturday, the association told reporters.
