JAKARTA, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's famous boxer Chris John is slated to defend his WBA featherweight belt in Japan against local challenger Zaiki Takemoto later this month.

Chris John said Wednesday Takemoto, now ranked eighth in WBA, is a tough fighter and that he was not sure to go home with a knock-out win.

"I'm preparing for a total fight in full 12 rounds," he was quoted by the national Antara news agency as saying.

Chris John, 39-0-1, has been training in the East Java town of Banyuwangi accompanied by his Australian coach Craig Christian over the last few days.

He planned to conclude the preparation on Bali island.

The Aug. 19 bout will be his second in Japan after he knocked down Osamu Sato in Tokyo in 2004.

He said earlier he planned to arrive early in Japan to adapt to the weather.
