Colombian athlete wins Panama City marathon

PANAMA, August 5 (Xinhua) -- Colombian athlete Iglandini Gonzalez won on Sunday Panama City's 31st International Marathon in the female category clocking three hours, two minutes and 29 seconds (3:02:29).

Iglandini won her fourth consecutive Panama City Marathon with this victory.

This 35,000-U.S.-dollar-prize-fund marathon included the participation of runners from Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Germany, Canada, United States, Kenia, Italy and Nigeria.

Second place in the female category was won by Colombian runner Rosa Rivera (3:10:36), followed by Guatemalan runner Margarita Conde (3:12:57).

Meanwhile, in the men's category first place in the 42.195-km race was won by Cuban runner Henry Jaen (2:29:32), followed by Colombian brothers Juan Carlos and Jose David Cardona (2:30:21 and 2:31:22, respectively).
