SANTIAGO, August 6 (Xinhua) -- Argentine soccer coach Marcelo Bielsa, left Chile on Monday without signing a contract to manage the nation's soccer team, the head of Chile's National Professional Football Association (ANFP) told a Monday press conference.

"We still have several points to discuss," ANFP president Harold Mayne Nicholls said. "We have agreed on some points and in others we simply disagreed. However, the good news is that both sides remain interested in continuing talks."

He described the discussions as "positive meetings", adding that the contract was for both sides to agree, albeit with pending issues.

After two day of talks in Santiago, local sports media had reported Bielsa's hiring as a done deal.

On Monday however, Mayne Nicholls said the ANFP is now talking to two alternative managers, in case the deal fall through with Bielsa, known as El Loco (Mad Dog).
