Shanghai ready for Women's World Cup

SHANGHAI, Sep. 5 -- Shanghai is fully prepared for the upcoming FIFA Women's World Cup, which will kick off at Hongkou Stadium on September 10 and end on September 30, the Shanghai organization committee announced today.

Venues for the sporting event have passed checks by FIFA and five teams, including the United States, have reached Shanghai, the committee said.

A total of 630 volunteers are ready for work and ticket sales have entered their peak period, the committee said.
