RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- The French delegation topped the medal standings on the third day of the 2007 World Judo Championships on Saturday, with two gold medals, two silvers and a bronze. France's Teddy Riner won a gold medal in the men's heavyweight division (over 100 kilograms), beating Russia's Tamerlan Tmenov. Georgia's Lasha Gujejiani and Brazil's Joao Gabriel Schlittler got the bronze. Women's middleweight (under 70 kilograms) Gevrise Emane bet U.S. Ronda Rousey by two yuko and a koka. Italy's Ylenia Scapin and Hungary's Anett Maszaros ranked third in the division. Brazilian and Cuban judokas also reached the top of the podium twice. The hosts won a gold in men's half-heavyweight (under 100 kg), with Luciano Correa, and in men's half-middleweight (under 81kg), with Tiago Camilo. Two Cuban women won their golds in the tournament. Driulis Gonzalez defeated France's Lucie Decosse for the half middleweight division (under 63 kg), and Yurisel Laborde overcame Japan's Sae Nakazawa in the final half-heavyweight (under 78 kg) challenge. Cuba's also got a bronze, with men's half-heavyweight Oreidis Despaigne.
